A Tribute to Red

Red is Haleigh's Beta fish. We had him about 6 months and this morning he had gone on to bigger oceans.

It's so hard to know what to do for your child when they are so sad about the loss of their pet. She loved that fish. She fed him every other day. We changed his water. She did everything right, but yet wonders WHY he died. All I can say is that he was sick and that fish get old very quickly and give her a hug. Of course, it doesn't help that Brice is running around repeatedly saying Red is dead over and over. Ouch! Why don't we add insult to injury? Every time he says it, she cringes...and so I'm trying to convince him it's over and we don't need to talk about it anymore. Good luck to me!

Just say a prayer for my sweet, tender-hearted Haleigh. She was a great mommy to her fish, but life happened to it. We'll move on and have another fish and she'll be great and yet we'll have to go through this again at some point.

We loved Red!

Awww...reminds me of Becky and losing Brownie. It is hard, especially when they do such a good job. Poor Haleigh! thought about getting another fishy - goldfish (The plain ones, not the fancy ones) live a pretty long time, and can live in a bowl.
