About 11 o'clock last night, Hal busted into my room saying something wierd was going on! There were "blue lights" flashing all over the place. After investigating, we figured out that they were just my TV, but also that she wanted to get in bed with me. Since I had the room, I decided to let her climb in bed.
We stayed up and watched "John and Kate plus 8" and chatted a little bit. It was kind of like a little sleepover. Fun. All of a sudden, Hal decided to probe me with questions about boyfriends and if Daddy was my boyfriend. I explained that he used to be, but was now my husband. I asked her what made her think of that and she said that some girls in Bible class a couple of Sundays ago were talking about the fact that they had a boyfriend at school. We talked about how little kids sometimes like to pretend that they are big and that they have boy/girl friends. We talked about who was cute, who liked who, all sorts of things. I'm up on the 5 yr old scoop now. I still remember being 5 and being curious about these types of things and I was expecting the curiousity. I think I talked her into the fact that boyfriends are just not something she needs to worry about for a long time. Friends are where it's at for her right now. And boys can be just her friend. I'm the most happy that I got to tell her that she can ask me anything anytime and tell me anything also. I'm glad she trusts me...
This morning....she and her brother were playing like they were getting married....oh boy.
Bedtime..it's more than just sleep. :)

How fun to get to have that one on one time with H! What a special memory.
I'm so glad ya'll can have girly chats. I can't wait for that someday. It's wonderful she feels she can tell you just about anything. So sweet!
You will have many more chats I'm sure! Boys Yuck- keep telling her that!
