Is it Monday already?!

Wow! That was a FAST weekend! It was funny...everything that was "planned" for the weekend...didn't happen! Exactly my reason for hating plans. It always seems to work out for me that way. When I plan things to do, somehow they always fall through.

Want some examples? You know, I recently wrote about wanting to be more organized... Let me first just get a big HA out there. Ever have those moments that make you feel like a complete and utter idiot? Well...here's mine. I wrote ON THE CALENDAR weeks ago about a birthday party for a friend of Brice's and even put the invitation in a place where I could get it the day of the party because it had a release form on it. To be even better...I went...ON THURSDAY...to get the gift for the party on "Saturday" and even wrapped it up...ready to go. I'm good, right? Well, Friday night, I go to get out the invitation and check the calendar the "night before" to make sure we know what to plan for the next day and the party was FRIDAY NIGHT!! :( I guess I shouldn't trust my brain too much because I was SURE it was Saturday. Sigh. I have a long way to go! So....the next day I have to explain to the kids how we won't get to go to the party after all because mommy is an idiot...(didn't say that, but sure felt like it!) but we will take them anyways. We get there....it's only open to RESERVED PARTIES on Saturday. So off we go to Chuck E Cheeses with no tears. (Thankfully)

The other plan on the agenda was to go on Sunday afternoon to get a passed down painting reframed. Well, we go to Michaels to get it done. BIG MISTAKE. I'm sorry you Michael's lovers, but I am just not one. I'm more of a Hobby Lobby girl myself. Can't help it. Never cared for the place. I should have known. You know the 50% off custom frames they ALWAYS have? DIDN'T have it this time. The guy who was going to frame it had no idea what he was doing and even suggested that I could just give my free frame the guy next to us who had a lot to frame?!??! WHAT?! I'm nice, but not that nice...especially considering he quoted me $650 to frame this picture! I'm not a money tree, people. I'm taking it to Hobby Lobby and getting my half off. I shouldn't have been, but was really annoyed by the whole experience for some reason. I'm trying to be better about that.

Overall, it WAS a really fun weekend and there were lots of good moments. We had fun at Chuck E Cheeses and the kids didn't freak out at all about any dressed up animals which is monumental. We got a new great dog "run" out back that's even covered for them so when it's muddy out, I can put them there and don't have to worry about them getting muddy and bringing it in my house! (or tearing up stuff if I can't be there to watch the lab puppy) I also found that my grapevine I got 3 years ago for Mothers Day is FULL of grapes this year!!! It's the first year it's been fruitful. It's so neat to see all those grapes growing. We're also redecorating around here and so that's been fun. Overall, a good, but interesting weekend. I hope yours was awesome!!!
