Chasing Bugs

I WISH I were only talking about the creepy, crawly kind..but unfortunately I am not. It seems that with all of the colds going around, our family is having a hard time fighting off the nasty, make you sick kinds. Just as we were starting to all get well, last night S. ended up getting sick to his stomach. We had planned to stay home from church to keep recuperating anyways, but I was SO hoping to get a chance to rest for myself. Such is life...

On the flip side, the kids DID get to chase a few bugs while planting earlier today. We finally took some time to plant some pretty flowers in the backyard and start our yearly planting of the tomatoes. I am embarrassed to say that we have YET to actually PICK a tomato, but this year will be different! I have been thinking a lot lately about my Grandma. She had the most beautiful flowers out in her backyard all of the time. She may not have had much, but she did the best with what she could and she spent her time on things that mattered to her. I am determined to have that flower garden this year, and a few tomatoes too, I hope. It's funny how the smallest things in life make the biggest impressions on you.

Back to the bugs...we found many treasures today...snails in the kid's watering cans and worms galore! So...I guess we DID chase a few bugs of our own today! Hopefully the "sick" kind will take a hint and run too!

"And the glorious beauty is a fading flower Which is at the head of the verdant valley, Like the first fruit before the summer, Which an observer sees; He eats it up while it is still in his hand." Isaiah 28:4

Oh- I hope you ALL get better soon for your sake!!!

There is nothing better then a garden of any kind!!! My grandma had a beautiful garden too! I think we just don't always take the time to smell the flowers like they did!

Keep me updated on your garden/tomatoes and I will keep you up on mine. If one of ours makes it-we will call it a good year (HEE HEE)!
