What a nice afternoon we had!! We decided, after my Desktop Weather Alert thing said high waves, that I HAD to go take pictures with my camera. I mean....how often do we get REAL waves in Galveston?? It was so cool! I love it when the water is like that!
After me taking many pictures, and the kids asking when we could finally go to a beach they could play on, we went down to Sunny Beach..a little pocket beach on the opposite side of the island than East Beach. I HATE commercialized beaches. I don't like the crowds. I don't mind a few people here and there...but I'd much rather kind of have the place where I can keep an eye on the kids easily. They LOVE the beach! And I love that I live somewhere that I can give them a beach whenever we feel like it. That would have been so neat growing up.
In addition to lots of fun in the waves, (by the way....funny how they don't mind a BIT the dirty Galveston water...or the fact that they can't see their feet..but mama...I'm out. I'm really good at waving from the shoreline. What a drag!) we got to see a TON of seagulls. I love the way they laugh and get a kick out of people feeding them. It's one of my favorite things!
We had so much fun in just three hours!
The only bad part....the WAIL that came out of Cait as we put her in her carseat! Poor baby...she didn't want to leave!!! At least I know she had fun!

I'd probably wail too, it's no fun to leave the surf, sand and seagulls. Glad y'all had fun!
Love the pics BTW.
It looks like you all had so much fun at the beach! Going to the beach is a favorite summer activity of ours--its fun and cheap!!
